Laura Lynch, an establishing individual from The Dixie Chicks, was killed in a head-on crash in El Paso, Texas, police said Saturday. She was 65.
Lynch was voyaging eastward on U.S. 62 when another vehicle going the other way endeavored to pass a vehicle on a two-way unified part of the roadway, the Texas Division of Public Wellbeing said.
The accident happened Friday around 5:45 p.m. nearby time.
The band, which changed its name in 2020 to The Chicks, said it was "stunned and disheartened" by her demise.
"We hold a unique spot in our souls for the time we spent playing music, giggling and voyaging together," the band wrote in a proclamation.
"Laura was a splendid light… her irresistible enthusiasm and humor gave a flash to the beginning of our band," it said. "Laura had a gift for plan, an affection for everything Texas and was instrumental in the early outcome of the band. Her evident gifts impelled us past busking on city intersections to stages the whole way across Texas and the mid-West."
Lynch was articulated dead at the scene, police said. Specialists said she was not wearing a safety belt. The other vehicle burst into flames and the driver was taken to the medical clinic with non-dangerous wounds.
Lynch was a fellow benefactor of the gathering close by individuals Robin Lynn Macy, Martie Erwin and Emily Erwin in 1989, Bulletin revealed. She was the upstanding bass player and in the long run played the job of a vocalist.
She recorded three collections with the gathering prior to leaving. Natalie Maines supplanted her in the band.
